StAR-2 National Strategy on Antibiotic Resistance – Swiss ASP (Antimicrobial Stewardship Programmes) “Antimicrobial stewardship in practice: Making the most of what you have”

First SwissASP workshop & networking event in Berne, 5 November 2021 10ham – 03h15pm

  • WHO? This interactive, multi-disciplinary meeting is aimed at hospital pharmacists and clinical leaders (already, or, planning to be) involved in antimicrobial stewardship in hospitals in Switzerland.
  • WHAT? We will provide a broader perspective on antimicrobial stewardship and what it can achieve. We will focus on the use of existing resources for practical stewardship implementation in the local hospital setting.
  • HOW? The morning session will include presentations from experts from Switzerland and abroad and a roundtable discussion on the importance and ways of effective stewardship implementation. The afternoon session focuses on practical stewardship implementation in small-group interactive case scenarios.
  • WHY? Under the second phase of the national strategy on antibiotic resistance (StAR-2) we support the Swiss antimicrobial stewardship programme (SwissASP) network in local stewardship implementation and the sharing of tools and strategies. This will help hospitals to meet their goals in improving antibiotic prescribing and reducing antimicrobial resistance.
